Launched as part of Sony Music Enter­tain­ment UK in Octo­ber 2019, Mag­ic Star is ded­i­cat­ed to serv­ing kids & fam­i­lies across the world with engag­ing audio and visu­al con­tent from music of all genres

Mag­ic Star’s part­ner offer­ings include music engage­ment & mar­ket­ing strat­e­gy, video strat­e­gy & chan­nel man­age­ment, dis­tri­b­u­tion, playlist cura­tion, A&R, bespoke mar­ket­ing support

Mag­ic Star works on music and strat­e­gy for My Lit­tle Pony, Pep­pa Pig, Bluey, Baby Shark, Duggee & The Squir­rels, Bratz, Trans­form­ers and many more.

Will Speer — Managing Director and Co-Founder. Based in London.

Will is an indus­try vet­er­an with near­ly 20 years’ expe­ri­ence in the kid’s media space. He has held senior roles at Dis­ney, Hit Enter­tain­ment, Mat­tel, NBC Uni­ver­sal & Dream­Works across brands such as Cars, Han­nah Mon­tana, Bob the Builder, Fire­man Sam, Thomas & Friends, Trolls and How to Train your Drag­on. In April 2019 Will moved to Sony Music to set up Mag­ic Star.


Olivia Walker — Vice President and Co-Founder. Based in London.

With­in her 17+ years music indus­try expe­ri­ence Olivia has suc­cess­ful­ly dri­ven many com­mer­cial oppor­tu­ni­ties, includ­ing a record-break­ing No. 1 Elvis Pres­ley album whose cam­paign also won her a Music Week Mar­ket­ing Award. She has deliv­ered plat­inum-sell­ing albums with Bar­bra Streisand, Dol­ly Par­ton and Jeff Lynne’s ELO as well as pres­ti­gious music mar­ket­ing cam­paigns with Fat­boy Slim, Pete Tong and across mul­ti­ple BBC and Nick­elodeon brands. 


Daniel Haack — Senior Director. Based in Los Angeles.

Daniel pre­vi­ous­ly was a cre­ative lead for YouTube Orig­i­nals’ kids and fam­i­ly slate, devel­op­ing and over­see­ing shows includ­ing Super Sema, The Gua­va Juice Show, Jam Van, Corpse Talk and more. He won a Day­time Emmy Award as a pro­duc­er of Sto­ry­Bots’ dig­i­tal plat­forms and is also the author/writer of mul­ti­ple pic­ture books and pod­cast episodes. 


Daisy Brown — Associate Director, Marketing and Music Strategy. Based in London.

Daisy has 9 years of music indus­try expe­ri­ence with 7 of the last at Sony Music in an artist mar­ket­ing role. She has con­tributed to anniver­sary cam­paigns for artists includ­ing One Direc­tion, Elvis Pres­ley, Palo­ma Faith, Labrinth and Brit­ney Spears. She spear­head­ed a Top 5 album cam­paign in 2021 which went on to become Gold Cer­ti­fied in the UK and win a ‘BRIT Cer­ti­fied Break­through Award’. 


David Hart — Campaign and Digital Marketing Manager. Based in London.

David has over 10 years of mar­ket­ing and project man­age­ment expe­ri­ence with­in the enter­tain­ment indus­try. Pri­or to join­ing Mag­ic Star David worked on film & TV retail cam­paigns for the likes of Dis­ney, Warn­er Bros., Uni­ver­sal and Fox, win­ning a cou­ple of indus­try awards along the way, includ­ing BASE awards for Retail Inno­va­tion in 2018 and Cam­paign of the Year in 2019 with Uni­ver­sal Pictures. 


Karen D’Arcangelo — Social Strategist & Campaign Manager. Based in Dubai.

Karen has 10 years of expe­ri­ence in the social media, dig­i­tal mar­ket­ing and project man­age­ment indus­try. Pri­or to being part of the Mag­ic Star start­ing team at Sony Music, Karen worked at Time Out Lon­don lead­ing on glob­al dig­i­tal projects like the dig­i­tal­i­sa­tion of the Time Out­’s Love Lon­don awards, and at ITV coor­di­nat­ing the release of award win­ning social con­tent for ITV’s four main chan­nels. She has also found­ed her own Social Media & Con­tent Cre­ation agency help­ing com­pa­nies such as YKK, Hype grow their social media presence.
